Alfred Leslie’s paintings of people
Are giant laced projects in might
And phallic statues of the man himself for all the world to see
And I’m just wet thinking about them
And how you love to stitch together the yellow of your dishcloth with the red of your nail polish
And make a whole new bag that SC,
Stam,
Or Kelly,
Would carry to the studio
Before being torn apart
For black or for white,
But never both
Cause that wouldn’t be chic.
And who wouldn’t want to be chic!
